Thank you to all volunteers….

and the more the merrier

As our season’s end draws near your football club would like to do three things:

  1. Say a huge thank you
The club has enjoyed the enthusiasm of new volunteers this season. You have all been helping to make a huge difference at the club each weekend in all sorts of ways. Our cafe is seeing a much needed increase in customers and this is all down to the work of volunteers. We would like to thank coaches who give their time for free every week along with helpers, parents performing admin roles and even those who help pack away, fetch, carry run the line or take the subs at matches. This is your club and it’s a success because of you.
  2. Update you
There have been ongoing negotiations with RAS to secure a new lease for the club which will ensure our long term future on the site and also significantly improve our financial position for years to come.
The new lease will also enable us to move forward with the proposed clubhouse, the plans for which will very shortly be submitted to the Council for planning consent. In order to get to this stage we have liaised with both the relevant parish councils, RAS, RCC and the Football Foundation all of whom look upon our plans in a very positive light. We have funding from several sources but obviously would always welcome other offers or suggestions of help to raise collateral.
  1. Ask for new committee members for the 2022/23 season
A number of the roles on the committee are currently filled by parents whose children are reaching the end of their Royce playing days and many are looking to hand over to new, enthusiastic people, just like you, who will bring a fresh outlook to the club.
Ideally those new people can filter in over the remainder of this season which will help to achieve a smooth handover and ensure the club kicks off next season on the front foot. There will be a number of vacancies to be filled including a new Chairperson.
As you may know our current Chairman Ian has a son in his last year at Royce Rangers but feels very strongly that no club should stagnate with the same people at the helm for too long. Those committee members currently working on the lease and clubhouse development will continue with those responsibilities but the day to day running of the club should be taken on by new committee members brimming with new ideas.

Royce Rangers, your football club, exists because of and for its members and is run entirely voluntarily.

To register your interest in becoming a committee member, to ensure the club continues to thrive into the future, either pop in to the cafe during training on a Saturday or email:
